Apple Devices
For iOS versions prior to 16.0, passkeys are saved to the individual device you are using.
For example, if you have an iPhone with Face ID, you will need to register that device as one passkey, and any other device like an iPad with a Touch ID will need to be registered with its own passkey.
On iOS you need to Enable Developer Mode and then enable Syncing Platform Authenticator
via the Developer
pane in the Settings
app. This process requires downloading and installing Xcode, but does not require an Apple Developer account.
Android Devices
NOTE: The Android native camera can read the QR code. Afterward, you will follow the FIDO:// (Fast IDentity Online) URL.
Note: If using, Bluetooth make sure Bluetooth is enabled on the computer and mobile device.
With Android, there would not be any extra settings needing to be enabled and, ultimately, the same onboarding process.
- Navigate to User Profile
- Select Add Passkey
- Follow on-screen prompts.
